On Thursday, after Bill Bryan, the undersecretary for Science and Technology at the Department of Homeland Security shared"emerging" findings that humidity, sunlight and disinfectants kill the virus faster on nonporous surfaces, Trump proposed investigating whether injecting coronavirus patients with disinfectants like bleach or UV rays could serve as a treatment.
Trump said: “I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute. . . . Is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that.”, he went on to say he told Bryan,"Well how do we do it inside the body or even outside the body with the hands and disinfectant, I think it would work.", D-N.Y.
New York's health commissioner Howard Zucker said,"We make sure our kids do not go into cabinets that have these chemicals in them, so we need to stay away from those products.”questioned Trump on if he should be making unfounded claims and rumors as the president during a pandemic. Trump responded,"I'm the president and you're fake news.
