Last year, former premier Jason Kenney said he ordered the Red Tape Reduction department to monitor stations for gas gouging.Jared Gustafson, press secretary for Nally, said the unit independently monitors prices at gas stations and it responds to individual complaints through its consumer complaint line and their Report a Rip Off page on the government’s website.
Dan McTeague, a Canadian consumer rights advocate who also runs gas price monitoring site gaswizard.ca, said prices in Alberta are actually where they should be and in many cases lower.Article content
