Following the tree planting, Gulliver, MacDonald and Sarson spoke about the risks of human trafficking and strangulation as an indicator of further violent behaviour. For Gulliver, MacDonald and Sarson, the most important thing to combat human trafficking is to know the signs and understand that it doesn’t necessarily happen in the movies.
“Instead of sex education, I think it should be relationship education, like how do we want to relate with each other, which then opens the door to whether you want to understand what a violent relationship is, or a non-violent relationship is - that starts that discussion,” she said."It opens the door when you start looking at the issue of relationships.
“It's recognized as a dangerous crime, and you prevent other crimes . You can prevent femicide, the murder of women and girls, and you can prevent homicide, which happened during the mass casualty.
