The Association of Deputy District Attorneys on Wednesday announced a lawsuit against Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón for allegedly shielding one of his top aides from prosecution for felony charges.
The group’s inquiries surrounded Diana Teran, a senior official in Gascón’s office who currently faces felony charges for allegedly downloading confidential personal records of Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies,to FOX 11. Gascón’s lack of response, the group wrote, indicates he may be working to protect Teran.
“It’s deeply troubling that we are once again forced to take legal action simply to obtain public documents that should be readily available,” President of the ADDA Michele Hanisee added.
