After the protests, Canadians needed an independent body to examine what happened, and more importantly, tell us if the federal Liberal government was right to invoke the Emergencies Act to end the siege in Ottawa and the blockades at two U.S. border points. It was important to establish whether the government action was justified under the law or was political overreach. Rouleau has spoken and that should be that.
