Spider-Verse sequel debuted many new Spider-Men.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT One of the most beloved new Spider-People introduced in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was almost cut from the final film, as revealed by film's creative team. Released on June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse debuted hundreds of new Spider-People, after 2018's Into the Spider-Verse introduced only a few interdimensional heroes to Sony's Spider-Verse franchise.
Empire Magazine spoke to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and its directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson for their November 2023 issue. During the interview, Lord and Miller revealed more about how constrained they felt trying to get Across the Spider-Verse's story to fit only one film - later prompting the film to be split in two, with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse still in development.
We were looking for ways to get the movie shorter. And one of the ideas was, well, maybe Punk is a side trip. We actually took him out about a year before release. And then we watched it and the problem with this movie is, Miles loses. From the start of the movie, he just loses the whole time.
Why Spider-Punk Was So Essential To Across The Spider-Verse When Miles Morales first came in contact with the Spider Society in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it didn't seem as though he had many allies. Even the likes of Peter B. Parker had seemingly betrayed Miles, despite building an incredibly solid relationship with the young Spider-Man in Into the Spider-Verse.
One deleted scene from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse actually revealed that Spider-Punk had already suffered a loss of faith in Miguel O'Hara and the Spider Society, meaning there may have been no better character for Miles Morales to build a connection with.

Disney’s next animated film has a trailer showing off its blend of animation styles.Wish is meant to blend modern CGI animation with the gorgeous watercolor animation Disney was originally known for. That should make it similar looking to films like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Those are gorgeously animated films with the latter looking like a hand drawn book brought to three-dimensional life. Wish definitely has more of a Frozen vibe than that, but you can see sparks of that blended animation in a few moments...in between clips of a goat talking about its butt.
