A new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse deleted scene explains a mystery surrounding one of the movie's most beloved characters, Hobie Brown.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT One deleted scene from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse explains a confusing Spider-Punk mystery. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse opened up the franchise's world to multiple new universes and several different Spider-Man variants.
One Spider-Man variant that did not only make the cut but was chosen by many as the best Spider-Man in Across the Spider-Verse, was Daniel Kaluuya's Hobie Brown, AKA Spider-Punk. Hobie was effortlessly cool, oozing charisma every time he appeared onscreen, which led to the character becoming the animated movie's scene-stealer.
Across The Spider-Verse Reveals Hobie's Spider-Society Backstory Hobie Brown was introduced as an anarchy-loving Spider-Man that is not one to be ruled by any set institution, which presents a question as to why the character accepted the invite to join Miguel O'Hara's team of multiverse Spider-Man variants, the Spider-Society.
In the deleted scene, titled "Miguel Calling," Miguel calls Gwen while he and his core team of Spider-Man variants talk to one another through holograms as they go on different missions. Gwen says she'll go to Hobie for help regarding The Spot, and Miguel mentions he "quit," to which Gwen replies that he has taken time off. Miles, who was camouflaged, emerges to convince Miguel to let him into the Spider-Society.
Across The Spider-Verse's Deleted Scene Further Explains Why Spider-Punk Helps Miles The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse deleted scene shows that Hobie was already having doubts regarding the Spider-Society before the movie began, which explains why he was so eager to assist Miles, helping him escape when Miguel decided to imprison Miles so that he would not save his father, thus meddling with a Canon Event.
