Khadga Bahadur Mukhiya Sunuwar is led out of provincial court Tuesday after getting bail on six charges from a triple stabbing in Halifax on Dec. 29. Sunuwar appeared in Halifax provincial court Tuesday for a bail hearing, but the Crown instead agreed to his release on $2,000 bail with one surety – his mother.Judge Gregory Lenehan endorsed the release plan negotiated by defence lawyer Lonny Queripel and Crown attorney Hartwell Millett.
He was required to surrender his passport to police within 24 hours, is prohibited from possessing firearms, and can only have a knife for food preparation or consumption, or in the immediate course of his employment.
