A California recycling center recovered a shoe box containing thousands in cash, accidentally thrown out by an Oregon man.
An Oregon man's trash was actually a treasure.
To her surprise, an employee found the money, and it was returned to the man less than 48 hours later. The box traveled more than 200 miles by truck, from Ashland to Samoa, California, before being deposited at the plant. Wise said each truck carries about 22 tons of material, and the plant receives about 100 tons a day, making the shoebox"like a needle in a haystack."
