Ever since the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences was founded 92 years ago, opening a museum dedicated to movies and the Oscars has been a prime goal. After many years in the works, the museum is about to open its doors to the public on Sept. 30 with exhibits devoted to the works of Hayao Miyazaki, Spike Lee, Pedro Almodovar and much more.
Famous movie costumes and figures from E.T. to R2-D2 and Bruce the shark from “Jaws” are on display, along with Dorothy’s ruby slippers from “The Wizard of Oz” and Bruce Lee’s “Enter the Dragon” suit.
