Hayter-Menzies is one of almost one million people, or at least 20 per cent of British Columbians, without a family doctor, and a new study shows that about half of Canadians either do not have a regular doctor or are unable to see their general practitioner within a week of calling for an appointment.Article content

“How it got to this is unbelievable. It’s very shameful that the elderly have to go through this,” said Hayter-Menzies, who said difficulty accessing a doctor is contributing to he and his partner’s reluctant decision to leave B.C.
