Giancarlo Esposito reveals which scene was his favorite scene playing the antagonist Gus Fring in Better Call Saul and the stunt involved.

Better Call Saul star Giancarlo Esposito has revealed his favorite Gus scene in the Breaking Bad prequel. During the events of Better Call Saul, Esposito's Gustavo Fring is trying to garner more power within Don Eladio's cartel, namely by pushing the Salamanca family out of business in New Mexico. However, this results in him having to face down multiple members of the family, including the Better Call Saul's Lalo Salamanca .

There are so many moments of this show that allow me to feel so warm and tingly, but I didn’t allow myself that feeling when I was there because I stayed to myself and I felt like Gus had a certain trajectory. I loved the victory, personally, in my episode with Lalo in that lab, knowing that at the end, I’m going to get him. But he kicks me down the steps, right? So Vince [Gilligan] and everyone were so worried and it was like five steps up.

Why Gus Had To Kill Lalo In Better Call Saul Lalo was the closest of the Salamanca family to take Gus down, having filmed Gus' operations under the laundromat which were intended to be separate from his work for Eladio. If Lalo had shown the film to Eladio, the cartel head may have killed Gus, putting an end to his plans of taking over the drug trade in New Mexico.
