Lycopene has increased both the durability and efficiency of perovskite solar panels.

But after the tests, they found out that lycopene passivated the grain boundaries , improved crystallinity and transparency, and reduced the density of electron traps —which overall, enhanced the electrical flow in the solar panels, thus increasing their efficiency, too.
