A stylist's easy elegant wedding overlooking the ocean in Ibiza.
, and Etienne Derœux, a fashion designer and creative consultant who works closely with the British rapper Skepta, were introduced at a dinner during Paris Fashion Week. “One of my bridesmaids, Sophie Conti, invited me to go with her that night,” Rae remembers. “We met later on when Etienne was looking for a stylist for his collection. Our friend Alice Pfeiffer set us up for lunch, and we worked together for a year before we started dating. We became best friends.
As soon as they started wedding planning, Rae and Etienne knew they wanted to show their guests the Ibiza they had grown to know and love after years of vacationing there. “We did not want your typical wedding,” Rae is quick to note. “We wanted to take everyone to our favorite restaurants, as well as show them the sea and the beach, so we searched all over the island for a place that spoke to us . . .
, for which Rae chose a white Céline linen and crochet dress from one of Phoebe Philo’s last collections. She paired the dress with shoes that she picked up in London. “They felt like a glass slipper,” she jokes. “They had a round and metal ball for a heel!” She carried a small white Céline bag with a silver chain, and finished off the look with silver and gold metal earrings by Charlotte Chesnais.
The couple was married on a cliff overlooking the water just below their villa. “The sky was slightly overcast, which was a good thing since it was still very hot around 5:00 p.m.,” Rae says. “We both walked down the aisle arm in arm with our mothers and fathers even though both of our parents are divorced. It was very meaningful that they came together to share this moment with us.”
