Memoir ‘Shadow Migration’ takes first-time author Suzanne Ohlmann from Nebraska to India to a haunted home in San Antonio
William Luther /Express-News staff“Most people, when they say ‘Write a book,’ what they’re really saying is you’ve got a compelling story that I don’t hear every day,” she said.
Suzanne Ohlmann credits author Beverly Donofrio with persuading her to pursue a master’s degree. She wrot her new memoir, “Shadow Migration,” as part of her studies.And she writes about finally finding a sense of home in San Antonio, where she and her husband now share a cozy 1915 bungalow with two dogs and eight cats.
Writer Suzanne Ohlmann talks about her first book as her dog Fu Manchu sits behind her. The book includes an account of how the dog, a rescue, came to live with her.Therapy and music helped, she recounts in the book. And so did writing.
