The Oakland A’s can add a new item to the all-time-low list of accomplishments they’ve racked up over the last few years. This time, though, it isn’t havingTo no one’s surprise, perhaps, the East Bay baseball team now has the recognition of having the worst stadium food in all of Major League Baseball, according toThe “guide,” which compiled over 100,000 food review scores for every major stadium in the United States, ranked all stadium foods no matter the sport.

We admit the data collection for these rankings is a bit sketchy. Apparently, each review was fed to a computer that analyzed each word for “their sentiment” using a “natural language toolkit.” When have you ever heard of a computer understanding sarcasm? Probably never. It’s likely that some reviews were written in jest calling something terrible “the best thing ever.”

That being said, an ownership group like the A’s, which is actively trying to move the franchise out of Oakland to Las Vegas, unsurprisingly doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on better food. They won’t even spend money on players who win games, as they ranked second to last in payroll the past season.

The one good thing the A’s had going for them, in terms of food, was Hal the Hot Dog Guy, an East Bay man who, while completing a PhD at UC Berkeley, worked as a hot dog vendor and created a strong following for his persona in the stands and on Twitter. Unfortunately, he won’t
