The Princeton grad was taken in the 11th round by Toronto

Amongst the players to take their first strides as players in the PWHL was St. John’s native Maggie Connors.She now joins Paradise’s Sarah Davis as players from this province taken in the women’s hockey league draft.

The PWHL is the newest league in women’s hockey having risen from the ashes of the Premier Hockey Federation, the Canadian Women’s Hockey League and the National Women’s Hockey League, this summer. That includes Canadian national team star Natalie Spooner, second overall pick Jacolyn Larocque and 11th overall selection Emma Maltais.

The team’s general manager is Gina Kingsbury, while its head coach is Troy Ryan. Both should be familiar to Connors.
