Daily News | A Philly man will be charged in the 2005 killing of a woman found decapitated in the Puget Sound near Seattle
A financial professional living in North Philadelphia has been taken into custody and is expected to be charged in the 2005 murder of a woman whose decomposed and headless body was found floating in the Puget Sound near Seattle, authorities said.
Two of Bourquard’s accused coconspirators were taken into custody Tuesday in Florida and California, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said. Another is deceased. Another coconspirator, Brandon Reeve, would later tell police that Read “could have been alive” after the assault. But Bourquard and another man — Oscar Gonzales — put her body into a Rubbermaid-style container, drove the container to Bourquard’s family cabin in Port Orchard, and left it in the fireplace.
On Jan. 15 of that year, Read’s headless torso was found floating in the plastic container in the water. Her head washed ashore two months later.

Georgia's Kemp seeks tax breaks, rebutting Abrams on economyGeorgia GOP Gov. Brian Kemp will unfurl his first major policy proposals of his reelection bid Thursday, pledging another state income tax rebate and revival of a long-dormant state property tax break while contending with Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams over who's best for the state's economy. After Abrams argued this week that “miserly” Republicans are denying basic services and ignoring inequities in pursuit of low spending and tax cuts for the rich, Kemp started swinging at Abrams as he celebrated record-high economic development numbers Wednesday. “If anyone wants to suggest we aren’t delivering on jobs and opportunities for everyone in this state, they should get their facts straight before commenting on things that they simply do not understand,” Kemp said.
