Every album Taylor has released has had a significant impact on my life, especially. This is the first era where I've actually felt like I know who I am and what I want from my life. Knowing thatwill be the soundtrack to this chapter of my life makes me feel so reassured. Taylor's lyrics offer a sense of comfort and joy that no other artist has ever matched. Her music has always been there since I was an insecure teenager, and then when I was a college graduate, and now as a young woman.
She's like a modern-day fairy godmother, and I cannot wait for this album to guide me through the ups and downs of this chapter of my life.I couldn't help but cry as I played the album this morning, especially as I listened to the lyrics of “Soon You'll Get Better,” because it reminded me of my own Mam, and how I was so close to losing her last year. It brought me back to sitting in isolating waiting rooms and holding her hand as she lay in bed in the ICU.
