Erin Mims says she can't make sense of the frightening incident that ruined her birthday...
A Houston mother of three set out for a relaxing 37th birthday celebration with her husband, but instead spent a night in the hospital — all because of a napkin placed in her car door.
Before getting in the car to leave, Mims noticed a napkin tucked in the handle of the passenger side door. Not wanting to touch it completely, she grabbed it with the tips of her long fingernails, threw it away and went back inside to wash her hands. Hysterical, the couple couldn't"think straight," she said, and struggled to find the nearest hospital.
Eventually, the doctors released Mims just before midnight, ruling it as an"acute poisoning by an unknown substance," according to medical paperwork shared with the Chronicle."Doctors said there wasn't enough in my system to determine what it was," Mims said.
