A new study has discovered a safer psychedelic that quickly treats major depression without producing hallucinations.

The psychedelic drugs LSD and psilocybin reduce the symptoms of depression but produce hallucinations.

A drug that is devoid of psychedelic properties rapidly produced antidepressant effects at very low doses., such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors , show therapeutic efficacy only after several weeks of treatment.
