A drug amnesty event takes places Tuesday in Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY — Several agencies are partnering for an outdoor drug amnesty event in Thunder Bay on Tuesday.NorWest is hosting the event in partnership with Syndicate Pharmacy, Superior Points, the Thunder Bay Drug Strategy, Thunder Bay Addiction Centres, and the Thunder Bay Police Service.

A drug amnesty gives community members the chance to have expired and unused medications disposed of properly and safely.Drugs accepted during the five-hour session include: In a similar event last year at NorWest Community Health Centres, over 250 litres of drugs were collected.
