The pro recommends brushing teeth at least two times a day, swishing with mouthwash, and flossing at least once a day. As for the right mouthwash? “Stay away from alcohol-based mouth rinses,” she says. “They have a tendency to reduce salivary flow,” which, according to the expert, may reduce clearance of bacteria and lead to bad breath. When brushing, “be kind to your gums,” she says, suggesting everyone use a soft bristle electric toothbrush.
