A 13-year-old boy died after being shot multiple times in Philadelphia’s Ogontz section on Monday night, according to reports.
The shooting occurred on the 6500 block of North Smedley Street around 6:45 p.m. ET.
The 13-year-old — who was an eighth grader at Wagner Middle School — was hanging out with his friends when he was shot multiple times in the face and head, police confirmed. He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center but was later pronounced dead. Though the cause of the shooting remains under investigation. Hence, police are reportedly searching for a description of the shooter.
“We’re not certain if he was struck by stray gunfire - but who and why someone would shoot a teenager intentionally, it’s unknown why someone would do that to someone so young,” said Scott Small, the Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector,
