Dr. Ather Waheed said that 12 special recovery teams were constituted to take action against the defaulters of e-challans. He said that these recovery teams will obtain data from the Safe City, detect the defaulter vehicles, and recover the outstanding amount from him. CTO Dr. Ather Waheed said that till now about 300 e-challan defaulters were apprehended, and this practice will continue in the future also. The CTO revealed that Rs 3,35,300 were recovered from defaulters of 313 motorcycles. He said a list of defaulter government vehicles has been finalised because everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. CTO Dr. Ather Waheed said that letters were dispatched to different departments for the recovery of fines.
