Sources told the 24News TV channel that soon after the incident, security forces cordoned off the area. Meanwhile, Babar Yousafzai, Special Assistant on Interior in the government of Balochistan, said that further information about the blast was being obtained.
"As soon as we receive more details, we will update the media," he said, adding that all concerned departments had been put on high alert. Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi strongly condemned the incident, and termed it a cowardly act. He said that such incidents could not dent the nation's resolve to fight against terrorism.
"Anti-Pakistan elements in India and Afghanistan are patronizing terrorists," he said, and added that terrorists were not only the enemies of the country, but also of humanity, and they will be crushed. "
