The alert comes amid ongoing monsoon rains that have already caused casualties and disruptions in parts of the country. In a statement released on Monday, the PDMA warned of a high flood risk in the Chenab River at Marala Headworks, one of the key flood-prone points in the province. The authority also flagged a medium to high flood threat in drainage channels adjacent to the Ravi and Chenab Rivers, urging immediate precautionary measures in surrounding areas.PDMA has also cautioned against likely urban flooding in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi divisions. The disaster management authority has issued an alert to Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and WASA authorities.
