President Zardari, PM Shehbaz shower armed forces with praise on Youm-e-Tashakur
ISLAMABAD In their messages on "Youm-e-Tashakur", President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have paid glowing tributes to the armed forces of Pakistan for the successful Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the brave soldiers and leaders of the armed forces for the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, stating, “This success is not only the success of the Pakistani forces but also of the entire nation. The nation stood like Bunyanum Marsoos against the aggression of the enemy.” The president further said that the armed forces responded to the Indian provocations with full force in a professional manner, adding, “The world acknowledged Pakistan's patience and tolerance and recognised our operational expertise.” He said that Pakistan is a peaceful country, reiterating, “We have no aggressive intentions against anyone. However, Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty and geographical integrity. Any aggression against our territory will be responded to with full force.” The president further said, “We reject the unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. There is no clause for unilateral suspension in the treaty. Pakistan will use all means of national power to protect its water rights.” He reiterated, "Salute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to defend our beloved homeland. As President, I reiterate that we will always stand by our forces." Also, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the whole world saw that it took Pakistan a few hours to bring the enemy, much bigger in size, to its knees. In his message on "Youm-e-Tashakur", the prime minister said that on the night of May 6 and 7, India attacked Pakistan, and innocent Pakistanis were martyred in the Indian attack. “It took Pakistan a few hours to bring the enemy, much bigger in size, to its knees. The planes that were the pride of India have now become ashes and a symbol of a lesson,” he said. The prime minister said that the PAF Shaheens inflicted effective blows on the enemy, adding, “This was our tooth-breaking response. The brave forces wrote a golden chapter in military history by giving a befitting reply to the enemy.” He also said that the enemy’s military bases, weapons depots, and air bases were reduced to ruins, adding, “The Indian Rafale came at the target of the Shaheens and failed. The nation stands by the armed forces like Bunyanum Marsoos.”
