The boy died almost two weeks after being shot in the head, police said, while playing with other children.
An 8-year-old Monroe County boy died this week after he was shot with a BB gun earlier this month while playing with other kids in Stroud Township, authorities announced Friday.
The boy was in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 12:42 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. Following an autopsy Thursday, Buglio ruled the boy’s cause of death was a gunshot wound and the death was a homicide. Stroud Area police said an initial investigation found multiple children were playing outside when the boy was shot. No adults witnessed the incident. Investigators determined the victim’s injury was caused by a BB gun.
