San Diego Fire-Rescue said it took all eight to hospitals, including two who suffered serious injury in the Saturday morning fall

Eight people were injured when they fell from the wall along the U.S-Mexico border in the Tijuana River Valley early Saturday morning, a San Diego fire official said. About 12:50 a.m., U.S. Customs and Border Protections asked San Diego Fire-Rescue Department to respond to spot at Monument Road and Hollister Street because several people had fallen from the wall, fire department spokesperson Monica Munoz said.

Fire crews assessed several people and took eight to area hospitals. Two had suffered serious injury, the rest has injuries considered minor. Federal border officials did not immediately supply more information, and no further information was available. The incident comes a week after eleven people were hurt March 2 when they fall from the border fence in Tijuana River Valley. And less than two weeks ago, a man died in a fall from the fence west of the Otay Mesa Port of Entry.
