Pakistan has strongly rejected the recent provocative and irresponsible statements made by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar during his address in Brussels. In a statement, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office emphasized that such comments are not only misleading but also against the spirit of diplomatic engagement.

“The purpose of high-level diplomatic discourse should be to promote peace and harmony, not hostility,” said Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan. The FO spokesperson added that Jaishankar’s tone and rhetoric do not reflect the dignity expected of someone in his position. “India has, for years, been involved in a malicious campaign to mislead the international community,” the spokesperson said, adding that “its continued anti-Pakistan stance and support for terrorism cannot be hidden.” Ambassador Shafqat further stated that such narratives are aimed at diverting attention from India’s state-sponsored atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir . “Instead of pointing fingers at others, India should introspect about its own involvement in terrorism,” the spokesperson said. He urged India to avoid using aggressive rhetoric to justify its recent hostile actions. Pakistan, the spokesperson reiterated, remains committed to peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and diplomacy, but is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty in the face of any aggression. “The Indian leadership must improve the tone of its discourse and abandon its obsession with anti-Pakistan rhetoric,” the spokesperson concluded. “India’s narrative following its failed military adventurism against Pakistan only reflects its deep frustration.” Pakistan firmly rejects the baseless and misleading remarks made by the Prime Minister of India regarding the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Such statements represent a deliberate attempt to deflect international attention from the grave and persistent human rights violations being committed in a territory under foreign occupation. We are deeply dismayed that the Indian Prime Minister has once again chosen to accuse Pakistan of involvement in the Pahalgam attack, without presenting a single piece of credible evidence. Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognised disputed territory, the final status of which is to be determined in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people. No amount of rhetoric can change this legal and historical reality. Claims of development in IOJK ring hollow against the backdrop of an unprecedented military presence, suppression of fundamental freedoms, arbitrary arrests, and a concerted effort to alter the region’s demography in violation of international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention. Pakistan remains steadfast in its principled support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for their rights and dignity. We call upon the international community, including the United Nations and human rights organisations, to hold India accountable for its oppression and to ensure that the Kashmiri people are allowed to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination, as enshrined in the relevant U.N. Security Council resolutions. Chinese leader Xi Jinping urged South Korea's new President Lee Jae-myung on Tuesday to work with Beijing to uphold free trade and defend ...
