كشف الفنان أحمد صيام عن جانب مؤثر من بداياته قبل الشهرة ، موضحًا أنه عاش فترة كفاح طويلة خلال سنوات دراسته الجامعية، اضطر فيها إلى ال عمل لتغطية مصاريفه ومشاركاته في النشاط المسرحي، دون الاعتماد على أسرته.
وخلال ظهوره في أحد البرامج التلفزيونية، أكد صيام أنه نشأ في أسرة مكونة من 6 أبناء، ما دفعه مبكرًا إلى تحمل المسؤولية والبحث عن فرص عمل تساعده على الاعتماد على نفسه. وأشار إلى أنه حصل على كشك صغير بجوار سينما الجزيرة في منطقة المنيل، حيث كان يبيع سندوتشات الفول من الصباح حتى المساء، وهو ما ساعده على الإنفاق على دراسته ومصروفاته، إلى جانب مشاركته في الأنشطة المسرحية والرحلات الجامعية.
وأضاف أنه لم يتوقف عند هذا العمل فقط، بل خاض تجارب أخرى متعددة، منها العمل على ماكينة آيس كريم، ومساعد صراف في إحدى شركات الاستيراد والتصدير، بالإضافة إلى العمل كنادل في فندق خلال الإجازات الصيفية. واختتم صيام حديثه بالتأكيد على أن هذه التجارب شكلت شخصيته وغرست بداخله قيمة الاجتهاد والعمل، وجعلته أكثر احترامًا لأي مجهود يُبذل من الآخرين.
