According to the channel report, the programme is aimed at bringing quality medical services directly to the doorsteps of millions of citizens across the province, especially to the dwellers of underdeveloped areas. While speaking at the inauguration, Maryam Nawaz asserted that her government is taking all possible measures for the betterment of the people of Punjab. She further added that her goal is to ensure the provision of free-of-cost healthcare to the general public without any discrimination on the basis of background or location. The ‘Clinics on Wheels’ vehicles are now equipped with advanced facilities, Maryam added, including mobile operation theatres and air-conditioning. It was announced that a total of 911 vehicles running these mobile clinics will begin operating from today all over Punjab.With the addition of more units, the programme now aims to reach 4 million people across all districts of Punjab. Serving both urban and rural areas, these mobile units will offer delivery services, essential medical care, and diagnostics. Patients in far-flung areas receiving up to two months’ worth of medicines were also brought to the public’s attention. Just within a few months of the initiative’s launch, more than 10 million patients have already been treated. While paying tribute to the contributions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former PM Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz stated that their tenure was marked by significant development in the health sector, further adding that her government is taking effective measures in order to lay the foundation of a comprehensive health system and make healthcare accessible all across the province of Punjab.
