Three policemen were injured, accomplices of the dead outlaws escaped
LAHORE – A Crime Control Department constable embraced martyrdom and two suspected robbers died in an exchange of fire when police raided a house to arrest hiding outlaws in Kahna here on Tuesday. The martyred constable was identified as Abdul Razzaq Dogar.
Three other policemen were also injured in shootouts, whereas accomplices of the dead outlaws escaped during the encounter. According to police, a CCD team on information about hiding of dacoits in a house conducted a raid in the area. To see the raiding team, the outlaws opened fire indiscriminately from inside the house. Police engaged them effectively and killed two outlaws. In the operation, a policeman was martyred and three others sustained injuries, who have been admitted to hospital. The dead robbers were wanted in multiple cases of heinous crimes including robbery. Police have launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects. Punjab IG Abdul Karim paid tribute to CCD Constable Abdul Razzaq Dogar, and directed best medical facilities to the injured personnel.
