In 2009, Beer hostedand became one of Australia’s most-loved personalities.
Thomas turned a childhood passion for rockets into a career. She joined DRDO in 1988 when she worked on design and development of the ballistic missile Agni. In her 32 years studying Agni missiles, Thomas developed many state-of-the-art systems using brand new technologies, and was the first woman in India to lead a missile project. In 2018, at age 55, Thomas was appointed Director General of Aeronautical Systems at the DRDO.
