Organized by Royal Purple Lodge 155, proceeds from the raffle will go towards peer support groups and other programming for those affected by brain injury

Throughout November, the Royal Purples have been selling 50/50 tickets in support of the Sault Ste. Marie Brain Injury Association – a non-profit charity that assists residents living with the effects of brain injury.

Chantal Scopacasa is the executive board administer for the Brain Injury Association, and she’s been running the non-profit out of her home office since 2016. She says any last-minute support for the 50/50 raffle would be greatly appreciated as the money will go towards a variety of educational initiatives for impacted residents and their families.

“We’re trying to gather more funds to be able to secure an office space in the near future so we can run peer support groups and board meetings,” she says. “I want people to be able to drop in and ask questions or grab any information they need like brochures and pamphlets.” “The holidays are a tough time for folks who are struggling with brain injury or concussion because of all the stimulation, lights, family visits, and everything else going on,” she adds. “This is a good time to get the word out that we’re here.”50/50 tickets can be purchased online and are available until Nov. 30.
