A 5-year-old girl who was riding her bicycle on an Atlantic City street was injured Sunday evening after she was hit by an SUV, police said. The girl was hit by a GMC Yukon being driven by a 36-year-old city resident shortly before 5:45 p.m. on the 200 block Montpelier Avenue and was pinned underneath the vehicle when officers arrived, according to a statement from thePeople on the scene helped police pull the girl out from under the SUV and she was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of injuries that were not considered serious, the department said.
The driver lost control of the Yukon and hit four parked cars in addition to the girl, authorities said. Her passengers, another adult and two juveniles, suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.Anyone who witnessed this crash or had video footage related to it is asked to contact Atlantic City Police Officer Franco Sydnor at 609-347-5744.
