Get ready for Roksanda X Fila – the collab of the season.
Roksanda Ilinčić’s shows are always a highlight on the London Fashion Week schedule. Literally speaking, of course. Her explosive use of colour and voluminous silhouettes give life to show-goers who have been trampling around town for days. But this season, as the wind blew outside the Tate Britain, Roksanda’s autumn/winter 2022 collection, which was designed as a kind of “armour to shelter and find refuge in”, felt especially poignant.
The dramatic undulating fil coupé looks, in particular, looked like they deserved their own installation.When Fila’s distinctive logo peeped out from beneath one of the first voluminous dresses, editors craned their necks. The succession of logo-stamped looks that followed cemented the unlikely partnership between London’s imaginative colour maestro and the Italy-born sports brand. If this was Roksanda’s way of doing throwback fashion, it certainly got our attention.
