Kevin Durant is trending towards making his Suns debut Wednesday at Charlotte as Phoenix fell Sunday at Milwaukee.
“Is he supposed to play Wednesday?” Booker asked a reporter. “I hope so. I hope so.”
With the game tied at 102, two Suns went with Khris Middleton, who got the ball off a handoff/screen from Lopez and found Lopez for a layup with 24.8 seconds left. Milwaukee executed the play as Lopez got an extra bump on Torrey Craig to get him off Middleton just enough for Ayton to react. Clearly mutual respect there, but Damion Lee didn’t set a screen to get Holiday off Booker and put Jae Crowder on him. Booker wound up going left and lost the ball. Then finally, Phoenix trailed by three with 11.3 seconds left when Joe Ingles missed the second of two free throws, but the ball was ruled out of bounds off I believe Middleton, who battled Terrence Ross for the ball. Now Williams had just taken Craig out and put in Ross before the Booker turnover possession.
Bucks finally moved him in the Durant trade before the Feb. 9 deadline to Brooklyn, who dealt him to Milwaukee where he played his college ball. Okogie has the momentum, but he could be the scoring punch for the second unit and have Craig start at the four.Ross is in there. He can flat out score and do so when it matters. The other two reserves aren’t as clear cut.Landry Shamet has yet to return from right foot soreness that’s sidelined him for a little more than a month. T.J. Warren hasn’t played the last two games, but he’s capable of going for big numbers.
