Peoria Liberty quarterback Navi Bruzon had a rare off night. But special teams, defense and a big-time play by receiver Prince Zombo keep it unbeaten.
Bruzon fumbled the ball on the first snap of the game. He was intercepted twice in the end zone in the first half — once by Kenny Worthy III and the the other by Aaron Monroe Jr., on the last play. That kept the game 7-7. Then, in the third quarter, Coyotes defensive end Noah Carter came through with an interception on a wide receiver screen intended for Zombo.
Centennial's only other touchdown came on a big play -- a 50-yard deep scoring pass from freshman Kainan Manna to Angelo Matamoros on the first play by Manna with under three minutes to play to make it a 10-point game. Manna had replaced senior Urquiza after Urquiza was injured on the previous play.
