Tight end George Kittle resumed practicing with the 49ers on Friday and could play in Sunday’s home opener against the Seahawks
SANTA CLARA — George Kittle could be on his way to playing in the 49ers’ home opener, unless they don’t fully clear him from a groin issue amid potential rain on a slick field Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
“It’s going to go right down to the wire. He is improving, though, and we want to make sure we have a healthy Kittle for the entirety of the season moving forward.” Kittle, a three-time Pro Bowler and five-time captain, missed three games last season and half of the 2020 campaign . The 49ers are 2-8 in the past 10 games he’s missed.
