CLEARLAND, N.S. — A 34-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after a head-on crash in Clearland on Sunday, Oct. 22.
Around 9:30 a.m., RCMP and other emergency personnel were called to the two-vehicle incident on Highway 103 where a pair of SUVs, a Ford Edge and a Volvo XC40, travelling in opposite directions had collided head-on.The driver and sole occupant of the Ford, a Simms Settlement woman, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by Lifeflight.
The driver and passenger of the Volvo, a 68-year-old Sydney woman and 79-year-old Howie Centre woman, respectively, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital by EHS, with the Sydney woman later transferred to Halifax.
