Asked about bolstering preventative measures, Brisebois said the ethics commissioner’s office already has a mandate to “undertake educational activities” for MPs and the office takes “proactive steps” to provide direction and advice about ethics. “It’s dishonourable to participate when your judgment may be biased and you may be unaware of just how biased your judgment is,” Schafer said.
