Monday in Calgary sent three people to hospital including a senior in serious, potentially life-threatening condition.
According to police, a Buick LeSabre sedan and an Infiniti G35 collided just before noon at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Madigan Drive/Penbrooke Drive — between the communities of Marlborough Park and Penbrooke Meadows. A preliminary traffic unit investigation indicated the sedan had been making a left-hand turn from eastbound Memorial Drive onto northbound Madigan Drive when it hit the oncoming G35.

A woman in her 60s ,who was in the sedan with the senior, as well as a man in his 20s who was in the G35, were taken to hospital in stable condition.The intersection was closed to traffic following the collision. Police expected to reopen the roads late Monday afternoon.We are asking the public to avoid the intersection of Memorial Drive E. and Madigan Drive N.E. due to a motor vehicle collision. Memorial Drive E. is expected to be shut down for a number of hours.
