The dual-motor model will also feature a semi-active suspension, and while the front motor disconnects to maximize range when it’s not needed, a performance driving mode engages both motors at all times for sportier driving. All models will have up to 200-kW DC charging capabilities, and will have bi-directional charging, so the vehicle can be used to power external devices.
Some interior components will all be made of the same base material, allowing them to be efficiently recycled at end-of-life, and upholstery choices will include knit textiles made of 100-per-cent recycled plastic that is made to size, eliminating waste during production. The carpet will include fabric made from reclaimed fishing nets, and interior vinyl is made with pine oil instead of crude oil, and with recycled fabric backing.
The new model will also feature a 15.4-inch horizontal screen with Google Built-In, an available 12-speaker audio system, and a further option for 16, with speakers in the front head restraints. Safety features include a driver-monitoring camera and steering-wheel hands-on detection; 14.7-inch head-up display that changes colour in snowy conditions for better visibility; and Pilot Assist that can change lanes when the driver taps the turn signal switch.
