The new model gets a 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder and the option of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder
The 5 Door is 172 mm longer than the base Mini Cooper 3 door and has a 72 mm longer wheelbase. Mini has confirmed entry-level Cooper C and flagship Cooper S versions. The new model has a simpler interior than the old Cooper 5 Door. Mini’s ever-growing range continues to expand with the launch of the latest Mini Cooper 5 Door. The hatchback has only been unveiled in combustion guise so far, but an all-electric version is thought to be in the works.
5-liter three-cylinder producing 156 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, set to be available exclusively in the entry-level Cooper C. This model has a 0-62 mph time of 8 seconds and can reach 134 mph . Those after a little more punch can opt for the Cooper S with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 204 hp and 221 lb-ft . The Cooper S boasts a 0-62 mph time of 6.8 seconds and tops out at 150 mph .
