A flood of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo attendees pour through the exits after the headliner wraps up their show and flows toward home. But for those who seek a little extra revelry and live music, the Hideout offers an extension. The Rodeo on Tuesday announced the 20 performers for the Hideout in 2023. If the names aren’t quite the draw that Rodeo headliners are, well, sometimes the Hideout — this year “the Hideout presented by Jim Beam” — provides a sneak peek at tomorrow’s stars today: Blake Shelton, the Dixie Chicks and Keith Urban are among Hideout alumni.
The Hideout’s white tent will be situated to the west of NRG Arena, with the Huser Brothers Band taking the stage on Feb. 28 for the first night of after-party music. Typically the Hideout offers modern country and honky tonk fare, while also inviting acts that dovetail with programming on the Rodeo’s special evenings. So Predilecto will play the Hideout on Go Tejano day, and J. Paul Jr. and the Zydeco Nubreeds will play March 3 on Black Heritage Day.
Hideout performances begin at 10:15 p.m. on week days, and 8:30 p.m. on weekends. Attendees must be 21 years or older. Hideout admission is free with NRG Park admission or a ticket to RodeoHouston.March 3: J. Paul Jr. and the Zydeco NubreedsMarch 8: Chad Cooke BandMarch 13: Taylor Branch and the Lone Star Ramblers
