After Rickey Smiley and actress LeToya Luckett-Walker retired hosting duties for the night, event founder Don Jackson took the stage with a reminder of why an event like this is so important. "The Black Music Honors gives us an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the trailblazers of African-American music," he said.
