In honour of Black History Month, we’re highlighting Black Canadian women and non-binary people of the past and present who have made notable contributions to Canadian society in the realms of fashion, athletics, culture and politics. This isn’t an exhaustive list by any means – there are countless Black Canadian women and non-binary people continuing to achieve great things, challenge outdated societal and cultural norms and undoubtedly make our country a better place.
