Thirty rounds were reportedly fired in the Oakland school shooting.
Law enforcement officers from different agencies are on the scene following a shooting at a school campus in Oakland, Calif., on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022.campus in the Eastmont Hills neighborhood that left six people, including two students, injured Wednesday afternoon, LeRonne Armstrong, chief of the Oakland Police Department, said.
The preliminary investigation indicates this was a targeted shooting linked to ongoing gang-related conflicts in the city, Armstrong said. No arrests have been made and police are looking for at least three suspects, two shooters at a minimum and one driver, who Armstrong said was identified through surveillance video. The department received calls that there could have been up to four people involved, he said.
The Wednesday shooting comes after the police department responded to a report of a"stabbing and a firearm-related incident" about a month ago, Armstrong said.
